AS A YOUNG CHILD:
Camille was 4 years old when she discovered acting. Getting in front of an audience once a month at Cushman School, a small (150 kids from Nursery to 6th Grade) school in Miami, Florida, the shy girl suddenly grew bold in front of an audience. Taken under the wing of both the Music Teacher (Mrs. Simon) and her Acting Teacher (Debbie Sanchez) was a great experience for Camille. Her music teacher recognized her talent, and not only had her ‘star’ in all musical productions at the school, but sent her onto the well known feeder school for The Miami Opera Company: The Miami Coral Society. During her 2 years there, Camille won all 13 solos during intense competitions, performing in a variety of venues such as The Miami Beach Theatre of The Performing Arts with the opera ‘Turondot’, the famous yearly Vizcaya fund raiser, The University of Miami Guzman Theatre and much more. Lynn Huff, from The Miami Coral Society, wanted to fast track Camille to Opera Singer status, because not only did Camille have Perfect Pitch and Perfect Tone, she could sing 1st and 2nd Soprano as well as Alto. To put it mildly, Camille had an unusually large range.

Meanwhile, in spite of Camille’s vigorous schedule with The Miami Coral Society, Debbie Sanchez (Acting Teacher) kept her equally busy directing and performing the leads during the various Cushman School plays and programs. In addition, Camille was selected for The Performing Arts program with The State of Florida’s Talented and Gifted Program, attending those additional classes after school and during the summer, keeping her status as an Honor‘s Student, wining Best All Around Student every year, and performing the duties as the Captain of the Blue Team (the school sports teams was divided in two with one School Captain per team).
